I need to start FlashBridge plugin but my server responds "FlashBridge could not be started: Permission denied"... where can I found documentation about FlashPlugin issues? I need to install something from Adobe Flash in server-side?

I'm on MacOSX 10.6.7 (without firewall) and jWebSocket 1.0a6.

Hi dromani,

the issue here is that an application under mac os is not allowed to access ports below 1024.
One way here is to use the sudo command from like this

This should fix your issue. Please let me know how it goes.

Best Regards
Alex

Hi dromani,

in case you are working on localhost the client should use 127.0.0.1 as host instead of "localhost".
That's actually it. Please consider that the flash bridge does not work using the file:// protocol.
A webserver is required.

Regards
Alex

I use this client-side code to open websocket connection but only works with native support browsers.

It seems that client Flash Player doesn't start. I'm trying on IE9 with Flash Plugin 10 and jWebSocket.js v1.0a6. I see at jWebSocket.js line 461 this:

It means that only works with Flash Plugin 9 ?

Hi dromani,

the query means that at least flash player 9 or higher has to be installed. Anyway, we recommend to download the latest nightly build to also benefit from the new improvements towards SSL, which is supported now by the flash bridge. I.e. the new release also contains an update of the flash bridge. We successfully tested this with IE 9. Please let us know if that works on your site as well.

Thanks
Alex

Finally I have my websocket client running well over flash-bridge. Maybe I think that it would be interesting to include in JS client documentation that it's very important add flash-bridge folder and files inside.

Thanks.

May be your system have default settings that is hidden. Try to first view your hidden file through view hidden files mac. Then try to access ports below 1024.
